Join our club! We're looking for volunteers to apply for several roles at Hurstpierpoint Colts for 2024/5 season.

I can't recommend being a committee member enough; I have thoroughly enjoyed being part of the club and getting to know so many great people.
- Alex Pitt, Chairman

Interested in supporting a grass roots youth football club?
As we come to the end of the season and look forward to our Awards Evening and Tournament; it is also time to ask for volunteers to join the club committee to replace the those who are finishing this year.

The committee members who are stepping down over the next few months are:

Club Chairman - Alex Pitt
Welfare Officer - Bart Bailey
Booking Secretary - Neil Saunders
Registration Secretary - Leighton Rowe

Of these positions, the club must have a Chairman and Welfare Officer in place by July to affiliate with the Sussex FA and to join league competitions. It is vital therefore that volunteers step forward to take on these positions. The Booking Secretary and Registration Secretary both play equally vital roles, ensuring that your players are able to join teams, compete in leagues and have regular pitches to play and train on.

All of the outgoing members will provide as much help as is needed to the person taking over and I have listed a broad outline of each position and the hours it involves below.

Chairman
Provide leadership and direction for the Club. Chair the committee meetings and AGM, assist the Committee Secretary to produce the agendas and head the Committee in making decisions for the benefit of the whole Club including disciplinary matters. [1-2 hours per week]. Importantly, organising the club events are no longer a requirement for the Chairman. Download Job Description.

Welfare Officer
To be clear about the club’s responsibilities when running activities for children and young people. This involves working with the FA and League welfare offices, promoting the FA respect program, ensuring each team has certified coaches and informing all players and parents who the welfare officer is and how to contact them. [Max of 1-2 hours per week]. Download Job Description

Booking Secretary
The booking secretary acts as the gatekeeper for all club bookings from league games, astro training pitches and tournament venues. The booking secretary liaises between the head coaches and the venues to ensure the weekly pitch requirements are met. [1-2 hours per week]. Download Job Description.

Registration Secretary
To be responsible for coordinating registrations for all players in the club, and submitting all necessary details to WGS for all players from U8 - U16. To maintain all records as up to date as possible, and work with the Club Treasurer to ensure all fees are collected in a timely manner, and records of such maintained in a secure and proper way. This role we feel could actually suit a small team of people as the workload is largely condensed to the start of each season, as we organise our players into teams and leagues. Download Job Description.

Apply for a role
If you would like to be considered for any of the roles above then please email info@hurstcolts.co.uk and your application with be reviewed by the committee. I'd also add that if you would like to become involved with the club in any form we are always looking for volunteers for a wide range of roles and if you have a particular skill that could be useful, we would certainly love to here from you. From graphic design to admin or car parking; anything you can do helps contribute significantly to making the club successful.
